Recovery

Recovery comes in many forms.  Over the past eighteen years The Solution News has provided articles by writers that provide the widest variety of recovery tools available to those recovering from all forms of addiction.

Probably the most time honored and easily accessible tool on the road to recovery has been the Twelve Step model as exemplified by Alcoholics Anonymous, Narcotics Anonymous, Al Anon and the hundred plus programs that use the 12 steps.  Our columnists that we have featured over the years include Mel B. co-author of the conference approved biography of Bill Wilson Pass It On and longtime editor of The AA Grapevine. Dick B. is probably the most prolific writer on AA history with over twenty=five books to his credit. Reverend Leo is known worldwide  as a public speaker and author whose expertise lies in the spirituality of the twelve step movement.

Since the seventies the clinical psychological approach to recovery has been evidenced by the rise of treatment centers and rehabs. This approach uses a variety of treatment modalities including experiential and behavioral. Clinical treatment is often combined with the twelve step approach to offer recovering clients the full range of recovery tools. The Solution News has published articles and papers by some of the leading experts in the field of addiction recovery.

Other approaches to recovery are often found in more secular and religion based programs. We are pleased to support recovery however it is obtained and are pleased to publish the work of all whose goal it is to find a lasting sobriety.

We feel that humor is an important part of successful recovery and for this reason we include recovery humor under the recovery pages of our site. We have and will continue to add to the largest collection of recovery humor on the web.

Finally we pay homage to the wonderful tradition and history of Alcoholics Anonymous by providing information, articles and links to AA History sites. We find that this history provides a rich resource for those of us practicing a twelve step program.

No matter what path has brought you to recovery we hope you find helpful information for you and those you wish to help. We always appreciate contributions and feedback.
